Here’s the second of my 2 Aqualung remixes. This one is a re-working of the stonking ‘Something To Believe In’. It’s a bit more bombastic, so I hope you dig…

    TalkBox fun with Jason Bradbury

Talk Box from Jason Bradbury on Vimeo.

Here’s a little clip featuring The Gadget Show’s Jason Bradbury turning tricks on his Talk Box whilst I provide some synth. Jason wrote a track for a challenge on the show and I swung by to check out how things were progressing. We got a bit distracted by the wonders of his vocal machine… Since then, Jason has started a new series of The Gadget Show but most impressively, has also become a superstar author with the release of his début novel ‘Dot Robot’. The man’s a media giant! You can check out his assorted goings on right here: www.jasonbradbury.com

    Aqualung Remix: Glimmer

Here’s the first of 2 remixes I’ve recently completed for the lovely Matt Hales of Aqualung. Both tracks are taken from his glorious MemoryMan album. This one is Glimmer and is a shimmery, glitchy fusion of electronics and Matt’s warm vocal. Hopefully it’s a happy union. Let me know what you think.

    All About Me

Hello. Thanks for taking the time to visit the site, which I hope you’ll find a many splendid beast. In case the sounds aren’t enough, here are some words which might help explain who I am and what I do.

I’ve been freelancing in music writing, production, remixing and sound design since 1999. I moved to London in that year having completed a degree in music from the University of York and set up as a freelancer and music technology lecturer, having been offered a part-time post at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

In 2001, I responded to an advert to become a producer and remixer for Almighty Records, where I went on to work for 4 years producing in-house dance tracks and remixes for luminaries such as Whitney Houston, LeAnn Rimes, Shania Twain and S Club amongst others. I left Almighty in 2005 but carried on remixing, producing tracks for labels including Positiva, Subversive and Tommy Boy.

However, a chance meeting with Swiss artist Annakin whilst holidaying in Mexico in 2004 moved my career in a new direction as, a few months down the line, she asked me to produce her début album, Falling Into Place. Last year, we worked together again on the follow up, Torch Songs, which has gone on to critical and commercial success. Record production now makes up a huge portion of my work and amongst my current projects is the new album from the glorious Echobelly.

Through publishing companies in the UK and US, I’ve also had a pretty healthy collection of tracks released in the big wide worlds of TV, film and radio with instrumental placements on the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 amongst others in the UK, alongside MTV, VH1, HBO and several others in the US.

As a song-writer, I collaborate with a number of my producees but also have an ongoing pop project in development with singer and producer Cayte Webber. One song of ours, ‘Control Freak’ is soon to feature on the feature film ‘Bring It On 5’ starring Christina Milian, whilst two others, ‘Information Overload’ and ‘Game Boy’ are slated for release on Electrovamp’s next album. I’ve also been writing this summer with Matt Hales of Aqualung.

My sound design work includes two recent examples in the ‘Media’ section of the site, both carried out for ad agency Lateral, who asked me to get involved with projects for Which? and Purple Ronnie, whose websites are now accordingly noised up.

When I’m not producing or lecturing, I write music technology reviews and articles for Future Music, Computer Music and Computer Music Special magazines in the UK. If any of this seems like it might be of further interest, go ahead and send me an email via the ‘Contact’ link. Thanks for reading.

Here’s Annakin’s first single - Monsters. We made this record together last year and it’s available to buy, right now, in iTunes. Get thee there immediately. The reviews have been like little love letters. Perfect for this time of year, what with Valentines Day ‘n’ all that.
