Annakin’s new record ‘Icarus Heart’ is due out in January and the first single from it is called ‘The Trooper’, which is now available for download right here. This time, Annakin collaborated on the album both with me and with Dimitri Tikovoi, famous for his work with Placebo and Sophie Ellis Bextor among many others. Dimitri’s production work on ‘The Trooper’ is great and the video, directed by Christian Ammann showcases Annakin’s gloriously unique image. I’m delighted to announce the release of Professor Penguin’s album ‘Planes’. I produced this with the Penguin himself, Jonny Abraham, earlier this summer after 6 months of joyous studio sessions. Fresh from a barnstorming set at LeeFest last weekend and an inaugural radio play on BBC 6Music, the album is already attracting some big attention. You can download it in your choice of format from Bandcamp here or contact Jonny directly via his Twitter page here to request a CD copy. It’ll be in iTunes and a variety of other digital retailers before long too. The track ‘Present’ is free on Bandcamp and a little click of the play button above should help convince you that it’s a track you need.

As promised, here’s a second track from the forthcoming ‘Iron Butterflies’ album. As with ‘Khaki Army Tank’, this track is a collaboration with Olivia Bradbury but this time we joined forces with my great friend, composer Matthew King, who wrote the harp, celeste and brass arrangements, the latter of which were then performed by Guildhall graduate Mike Ball. Olivia is once again on sparkling form, with a wonderful lyric and unique vocal performance. Enough from me… kick back, drink it in and let me know what you think.

For the past two years, whenever other production work hasn’t (happily) got in the way, I’ve been working on an album project of my own, along with a group of carefully chosen collaborators. This summer, I’m determined to finish it but in the meantime, I thought it might be the right time to start unleashing a few of its completed songs upon the world at large. So, here’s the first of what will become a series of pre-album postings. The song was co-written with Olivia Bradbury who recently graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama’s Jazz course. Her wonderful voice and interesting worldly observations, spelt our through her lyrics, made her a wonderful choice for a collaboration and the result is this… Khaki Army Tank. Expect more from this project soon.
